The Iron 883 was once the American brand's entry-level model, but with the introduction of Street 750 and 500, it has now risen up the ladder. The Iron now boasts a 1202cc engine, which is the next natural step for Harley-Davidson. The Iron 1200 and the Forty-Eight Special will share a 1202cc V-Twin engine. At 4000rpm, this 'Evolution' engine will produce 96Nm of torque. The Iron 1200 will have a similar appearance to the Iron 883. The paint scheme is blacked out, and the engine is blacked out as well, though the pushrods are chrome. It has a front wheel that is 19 inches in diameter and a rear wheel that is 16 inches in diameter. The ape-hanger handlebars are paired with a single seat inspired by the café-racer aesthetic. The headlamp features a cowl, which was first seen on the Street series, and the fuel tank holds 12.5 litres.
