The new Grand i10 Nios slots in between the existing Grand i10 and larger i20 in Hyundai’s India range. Key talking points include keen pricing, loads of features and the option of four engine-gearbox options. It’s on offer with petrol and diesel engines that can be had with manual or AMT gearboxes.

The Grand i10 Nios is a handsome looking hatchback, and up front, gets some interesting elements like the tri-arrow DRLs and a large grille with a honeycomb pattern. At the rear, it gets sharply styled tail-lights which are connected by a band, similar to the Venue compact SUV. However, the band is not a light but merely a reflector.
The interior of the Grand i10 is practical, well equipped and well thought out. A relatively high seating position, easy-to-reach touchscreen and ample storage makes it a car that instantly makes you comfortable. Higher-spec variants are well equipped with features such as an 8.0-inch touchscreen, wireless phone charger and rear AC vents.
The Grand i10 Nios is well equipped with respect to safety features too. It gets four airbags as standard, while the top-spec variant gets six. Additionally, it also comes with ESC, hill-start assist, ISOFIX child-seat mounts and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
The Grand i10 Nios gets a sole 1.2-litre petrol engine and is paired to either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT. There's a CNG version too and the engine can also run on E20. The 1.2-litre motor gets the job done though it lacks the pep of Maruti’s K12 engine. It works best in city, and with a light-steering and good ride, the Grand i10 is a friendly city car. The previously available 1.0 turbo petrol and 1.2 diesel engines are no longer on sale.
The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios price ranges from Rs 5.69 lakh to Rs 8.47 lakh (ex showroom). The Grand i10 Nios remains a compelling choice in the segment currently consisting of cars like the Tata Tiago and Maruti Suzuki Swift. It is a sensible and well-equipped family hatchback that is at home in urban environments.
