Kia’s flagship EV, the EV6 was launched in June 2022 in two variants - RWD and AWD. Imported via the CBU route, the EV6 gets a sole 77.4kWh battery pack and produces 229hp and 350Nm in RWD guise, and 325hp and 605Nm in AWD guise. With a claimed WLTP range of 528Km, the EV6 can accept upto 350kW of DC fast charging, allowing the battery to charge from 10 to 80 percent in just 18 minutes. Based on the e-GMP platform shared by sister brand Hyundai’s Ioniq 5 crossover, it will be its closest rival when it is launched in early 2023. Until then it is priced simiilar to the BMW i4 sedan.

The EV6 looks unique with its flowing crossover design, aiding efficiency and allowing for a 0.28 drag coefficient. The interior features a 12.3-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster housed in a single, curved binnacle. It’s a hugely spacious vehicle but the rear seating position isn’t too comfortable due to the high-set floor. Performance is very strong, with 0-100kph in a claimed 5.2sec in AWD guise, and a 192kph top speed. Despite weighing around 2 tonnes, the EV6 is equally impressive on handling, steering feedback, and driving dynamics. Even though it has a high price tag, the EV6 is thoroughly well equipped, and with the space, dynamics, performance and range on offer, is a compelling package.
