Audi's first EV, called simply the e-tron, takes the form of a five-seat SUV. Unlike some other radical looking EVs, this one looks conventional by design, and also comes with the space and practicality you'd expect from a big luxury SUV. It comes in two flavours - the lower powered e-tron 50 (313hp, 540Nm) and the more powerful e-tron 55 (408hp, 664Nm), the latter also getting more standard equipment. Both cars get dual motors and AWD, but the 50 uses a 71kWh battery that's good for a claimed 379km range, while the 55 uses a 95kWh battery with a claimed range of 484km. Both cars feature 11kW AC fast charging as standard (with the option of 22kW), and can be charged at DC fast chargers of up to 150kW.

Its relatively conventional styling might not have the wow factor of rivals, but as a package that combines luxury, practicality, performance, range and tech, it's hard to beat. It feels the best rounded luxury EV SUV of the current bunch and also the easiest to live with. Standard air suspension is a huge boon on our rough roads, and gives the e-tron the ability to even do some light off roading. And if your usage is primarily urban, the lesser 50 variant will prove more than enough.
