    The Citroen C3 is the French carmaker’s first mainstream model for the Indian market. Citroen likes to call it ‘hatchback with a twist’ and it rivals the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Ignis and the Tata Punch. It is powered by either a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated or a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine with the latter having the highest torque figure of any small-capacity turbo-petrol engine. There is, however, no automatic gearbox at launch.

    The Citroen C3’s quirky looks, spacious and comfortable interiors and an excellent ride quality will endear it to you. The turbo-petrol is impressively punchy and even the naturally-aspirated motor is rather good for its class. However, and despite the 10-inch touchscreen and its wow factor, Citroen has trimmed several features, including basic ones like power-adjustable rear-view mirrors and a rear wiper and defogger. However, there’s no denying it works well as a strong mechanical package, with a quirky, left-field vibe.
