Ferrari 812 Superfast

Whether you see it as a thing of beauty or not, the Ferrari 812 Superfast has the GT proportions down pat. Of course, like every other Ferrari, you can personalise the look of your car by ticking on some very expensive options. There’s a whole lot you can do to spruce up the interior as well, though the 812’s two-seat cabin is sumptuous even in stock spec. And if only for academic interest, you’d be happy to know there’s a useable boot at the back too.
The Superfast in this Ferrari’s name isn’t a misnomer. Performance is absolutely ballistic – 0-200kph, for instance, takes all of 7.9sec! The 812 Superfast’s 800hp, 6.5-litre V12 really is one of Ferrari’s greats. It pulls with an addictive urgency and wails all the way to 9,000rpm. And the dual-clutch transmission that channels the power to the rear wheel is the best of its type. The fact is, you’ll need to book a track session to make the most of the 812’s power and rear-wheel steer-endowed handling. Do note, however, that on public roads, the 812’s ride does feel fidgety and the fat tyres make a fair bit of noise too.
